“Signs of corruption” – Opposition parties query inclusion of Tinubu’s sons in Qatar delegation
The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has raised concerns and criticized the inclusion of President Bola Tinubu’s two sons, Seyi and Yinka, in the official list of Nigeria’s delegation to Qatar.
The CUPP leadership expressed dismay over what they perceive as an increase in the cost of governance through a bloated delegation that includes family members.
Peter Ameh, the National Secretary of CUPP, addressed reporters in Abuja and questioned the capacity in which Seyi Tinubu and Yinka Tinubu, sons of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are part of the official delegation to Qatar.
Ameh criticized the move, suggesting that these slots should have been allocated to professionals who are well-versed in negotiating beneficial deals for Nigeria’s economy.
Ameh accused Tinubu of contradicting his claims of being serious about reducing the cost of governance while allegedly increasing it through a delegation that includes family members lacking the requisite experience in international affairs and bilateral trade negotiations.
He labelled the situation as mismanagement of public finances and raised concerns about corruption in the government.

His words: “In what capacity is Seyi Tinubu and Yinka Tinubu, sons of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, traveling to Qatar on the official list of Nigeria’s delegation?
“While Tinubu is busy deceiving Nigerians that he is serious about cutting down cost of governance, he is increasing such cost through the back door with a bloated list of dignitaries, which includes his family members.
“Slots that should have been given to professionals who are well equipped to negotiate a good deal for our collapsing economy and country are given to his children. His children have no idea or experience required in this business of international affairs and relations with bilateral trade between countries.
“This is why his government has brought more misery to the Nigerian people than any government in the history of our country. This is a clear case of mismanagement of public finances, and an obvious signs of corruption in government.”
