Smart phone spark generator explosion as three family members hospitalized in Yenagoa
TRACKING_____Three family members sustained various degrees of injuries after a generator explosion in their corridor on Sunday evening in Fafaa lane, behind Bishop Demiari Grammar School, BDGS, in Ovom-Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.
A neighbor told our man, who arrived the scene of the incident that the explosion occurred when one of the victims, identified as Chibuke, the eldest among the three was about to put on a generator set shortly after a power outage.
According to him, Chibuke, was at the verge of pouring out petrol into the generator set, when his immediate younger brother, known as Ziglar, arrived the scene with a touch from an Android smart phone to give brightness to his brother resulting into the explosion.
He said it was not clear how the last child, Chidindo got into the scene, but at the point of the explosion, the child was seen very close to the generator set and therefore, sustaining greater burns from the fire before they were rescued by neighbours and their mother.
Our man, Solomon Unuwoma, reports that the children were taken to a hospital in Yenagoa where they are currently recuperating.
