Souness names two most influential managers in Premier League history

Adeleye Kunle Reports
Former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness believes that former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is “not in the conversation” when it comes to Premier League managers with great legacies, TrackNews reports.
Instead, the legendary Scot named Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City as the two most influential Premier League managers in history.
This is despite the fact that Wenger is the longest-serving manager in Premier League history.
One of Wenger’s most notable achievements was leading the Gunners to the 2003/04 Premier League title without losing a single game.
But, according to Souness, Wenger’s impact is far less than that of Ferguson and Guardiola.
Souness was asked on TrackNews if Wenger has a legacy like the pair, and he replied, “No, not for me.”
He stated that, while the Frenchman had a fantastic ten years at Arsenal, he did inherit arguably the best back-five in world football.
“I don’t think he came close,” Souness, a former Newcastle manager, said.
“I believe [the greatest legacy] belongs to Fergie; he built three or four teams, and his legacy is the most extensive.”
Guardiola, according to the Scotland legend, has brought something new to the Premier League, including styles such as playing out from the back, which became popular among clubs after the Spaniard arrived.
