Onyekuru began his football career in 2010 with the Aspire Academy and graduated in 2015 to join their partner club, K.A.S. Eupen.

On 5 September 2015, he made his Eupen debut in a 2-2 draw against K.F.C. Dessel Sport in the Belgian Second Division.

In his first season, Onyekuru helped the team gain promotion to the Belgian First Division A, and he made his professional debut in a 3-0 loss to S.V. Zulte Waregem on July 30, 2016.

After a successful season in Belgium’s first division, Onyekuru finished as one of the league’s top scorers, attracting the attention of several larger European teams.

He finished the 2016-17 season as the joint top-scorer with 22 goals, but the trophy went to ukasz Teodorczyk, who had more away goals than Onyekuru.
