I’m ready to rival Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea – Striker says
Initially signed up from Molde as a young prospect, David Fofana was sent on loan to German Bundesliga side Union Berlin last summer, but he had a disastrous half-year spell with Union Berlin.
The 21-year-old eventually moved to Burnley in January on a short-term loan deal.
On his future plans, David Datro Fofana has said he’s ready to come back to Chelsea’ for pre-season, where he can battle Nicolas Jackson before deciding on whether he’d go out on loan or not.
“I haven’t thought about it yet,” the Ivorian told Capital Football when asked about his plans at Chelsea..
“I think I’ll go back and why not do the pre-season with Chelsea? [In January], I wanted to stay but some things happened… but for sure I have nothing to envy Nicolas Jackson, who is [also] my friend.”
Fofana scored four goals in 15 appearances for Burnley, and even bagged a brace on his debut but it all went downhill from there.
The 21-year-old said when asked what went wrong: “It’s life, I had a bright start to my Burnley career but then the manager made his decisions. I don’t wanna go into details.”
