The Olympic Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Tanzania in the first leg of their 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
The two goals at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium came from the spot.
The Eagles were awarded a penalty on 29 minutes after Akanni Qudus was brought down inside the box.
Captain Success Makanjuola calmly slotted the ball home to hand Nigeria the lead.
The hosts equalised from another penalty 13 minutes from time through Ally Msengi.
The two teams failed to find the winning goal afterwards.
The reverse fixture will take place next week Saturday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan
