Sule renovates 67 PHCs with N300m

TRACKING____Nasarawa State Government has renovated 67 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) and 11 General Hospitals through the 2020 intervention from the Save One Million Lives (SOML), a programme of the World Bank.
Governor Abdullahi Sule stated this on Wednesday in Lafia, while launching the distribution of N300m hospital equipment for PHCs and General Hospitals. The equipment were procured through the same intervention.
Sule said the government had made significant strides in the health sector since the domestication of the SOML programme. He said his administration upgraded two service delivery points at Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, as well as the central medical store under the same intervention.
Sule explained that the Saving One Million Lives programme was initiated by the Federal Government to expand access to essential primary healthcare services for women and children. He said the initiative was evidence-based and cost-effective interventions that were proven with the intent to address the leading causes of morbidity and mortality rate in the country.
He said considering its effectiveness, the government had domesticated the programme in order to provide essential healthcare services to the residents of the state.
