The President General of Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association, GCUOBA, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje, has urged President Bola Tinubu to address the dual issues of insecurity and power as a solution to the severe problem of food insecurity in the country.

Akpomudje, the Otota of ancient Olomu Kingdom emphasized that the illegal occupation of farm lands has made farming difficult thereby leading to low food production across the country.

The Life Bencher stated this Wednesday in a chat with Vanguard newspapers and added that with improved electricity supply, Nigeria will attain her maximum potentials.

According to him, “I want to tell President Tinubu that, one short cut to tackle food insecurity and rising cost of living is to tackle insecurity and power headlong. This has a multiplier effect that will solve the seemingly problems of hardship we faced today.

“Herdsmen have occupied a great chunk of our farmlands and people are having difficulties going to farm. Those in production and manufacturing sector have no power to produce, companies have left the country and our production capacity has nose-dived to an unacceptable proportion.

“If the President can tackle the illegal occupation of our lands by killers’ herdsmen and improved our power generation, these problems we face will disappear naturally. People can return to farms without fears, companies will increase manufacturing and production.

“It is a known fact that insecurity is still persistent till now, in Delta here, the Uwherun axis is still being occupied by the killers’ herdsmen and our people cannot go to farm, there is same fear in my Olomu Kingdom. The President must act quickly, it is not about good speeches and broadcasts.” Akpomudje stated.
