Chinese e-commerce platform Temu, which entered the Nigerian market in November 2024, is facing a surge of complaints from Nigerian consumers, a recent survey by NAN reveals.
Despite initial excitement over its low prices and free shipping offers, many customers have expressed dissatisfaction with product quality, deceptive advertising, and complicated gift redemption conditions. Some shoppers reported receiving miniature or substandard items, while others struggled with return processes requiring overseas shipping.
Though a few users praised Temu’s affordability and responsive refunds, growing skepticism about its trustworthiness is evident across platforms like TikTok and Nairaland.
In response, Temu said it is working to improve user experience, maintain quality standards, and adapt its services to Nigerian consumer needs.
