“Terror in Ondo: Suspected Herdsmen Kill Over 20 Farmers in Brutal Attack”

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed more than 20 farmers across at least four communities in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The armed assailants reportedly launched their attack in the early hours of the weekend, terrorizing the residents.
The affected communities have been identified as Aba Pastor, Aba Sunday, Ademekun Camp, and Aba Alajido Camps within Ala Elefosan. So far, 14 bodies have been recovered from these areas, while search efforts continue for additional missing persons.
Speaking on the incident, Princess Adelowo Adekemisola, the Regent of Ademekun Village, confirmed that the attackers infiltrated the communities and opened fire indiscriminately.
“The herdsmen entered our community through the Edo-Ondo boundary and began shooting sporadically. During Akeredolu’s administration, Amotekun came to our rescue, and the perpetrators were arrested and paraded. Since then, peace has returned to the community, until now,” she said.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, also confirmed the attack, stating that police operatives have been deployed to the affected areas to restore order.
