The Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit was established decades ago with the sole purpose of curtailing security challenges across the State, in order to ensure the protection of lives and properties as obligatory responsibilities of the government at any point in time.

The establishment of the security outfit drastically reduced the level of insecurity in the state over the past decades, which is a good step in the right direction. Also, the establishment of the security outfit has gainfully employed over three hundred youths over the years.

There has been a tremendous change under the leadership and management of the present acting chairman of the security outfit, Hon. Lucky Asanakpo, since his inception in office, due to his high level of intelligence, effectiveness and proactiveness in tackling security challenges in the state over the years.

Asanakpo as a strategist and security expert, he created a peaceful and collaborative co-existence between various contending cult groups with the sole purpose of creating an enabling environment for peace and unity among youths across the state, which was a brilliant strategy in creating a peaceful and united collaborative co-existence among our people.

He extended the security outfit activities by holding meetings with various youth leaders and traditional rulers in various communities across the state, with the sole purpose of creating a peaceful environment for inhabitants, which was a huge success in curbing insecurity in the state over the years, under his credible leadership.

The security outfit has recorded a lot of success under his unassailable leadership in maintaining peace and unity among the great people of the state, especially contending cult groups which was a huge success in bringing lasting peace in our environments.

He gallantly and tremendously performed very well and managing the security outfit in curbing challenges throughout the restoration government led by Henry Seriake Dickson across the State. And as such, I believe that he will do more if the mantle of leadership is substatively reinstated to ensure that there is peace and unity in the State.

I hereby appeal to the Prosperity government led by Gov. Douye Diri to substantively reinstate Hon. Lucky Oyinkuro Asanakpo as chairman of the security outfit to further enhance the protection of lives and properties, by working with other government security agencies to bring lasting peace across the State.
