The Only Way Wike’s Nomination Could Sound Right To Me Is Based On His Actions During Election-Asari Dokubo

Alhaji Asari Dokubo’s recent YouTube interview addressed his reaction to Nyesom Wike’s nomination and emphasized the need for patriotic, passionate leaders who genuinely love Nigeria and are committed to driving the country forward. He urged the nation to prioritize individuals who put the country’s interests first, focusing on unity, progress, and prosperity for all Nigerians.
In a recent YouTube interview, Alhaji Asari Dokubo of the Kalabari Kingdom expressed his reaction to the inclusion of Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, on President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list. Dokubo seemed cautious about supporting Wike’s nomination, suggesting that it would only be acceptable to him if Wike’s actions during the election justified his inclusion. However, Dokubo emphasized that what Nigeria truly needs are individuals who are deeply patriotic, genuinely love the country, and possess a strong passion for driving the nation forward rather than backward.
According to Asari Dokubo, “If the President came up with this list by judging the nominees from their past experiences, I will totally disagree with him on Wike’s nomination. The poverty index just came out and it shows Rivers State is top in the South-south, and Rivers State has budgeted more money than any State in the South-south. So flyovers are what make a Government successful? Go to Rivers State and see how people are suffering.
“But the only way his nomination could sound right to me is based on his actions during the election. However, what we really need in Nigeria are people who are patriotic, people who love the country and people who have passion in driving the nation forward and not backward”.
In the interview, Alhaji Asari Dokubo highlighted the importance of candidates displaying a true sense of patriotism. For him, it is crucial for those assuming positions of power to prioritize the best interests of the nation above personal gain or agendas. He believes that leaders must demonstrate unwavering dedication to Nigeria’s progress, growth, and welfare, focusing on initiatives that promote unity and development.
Dokubo’s stance underscores the significance of having leaders who genuinely care for the nation’s well-being. Instead of merely considering political affiliations or past actions, he urges the country to seek individuals who possess a deep-seated love for Nigeria and its people. By prioritizing such passionate leaders, the hope is that they will lead the nation on a trajectory of positive change, ensuring its advancement and prosperity for all citizens.
