The police have arrested a woman named Ogechi Okechukwu, who works as a nurse, for deceiving people with fake illnesses to solicit donations

Ogechi pretended to need money for urgent surgery and sought help on Facebook. A kind-hearted influencer named Uwaoma Susan Joseph raised nearly N800,000 through her platform, believing Ogechi’s story was genuine.
However, investigations later revealed that Ogechi was lying and that she had conspired with a doctor at FMC Yenagoa to orchestrate the scam. The police found evidence of conversations between Ogechi and the doctor on her phone.
As of now, Ogechi is residing in a government facility at the police station.
