The Rivers State (APC) has mocked Governor Nyesom Wike for allegedly panicking as his tenure draws to a close.

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has mocked Governor Nyesom Wike for allegedly panicking as his tenure draws to a close.
Rivers APC spokesperson Senibo Chris Finebone chastised Wike for his hollow and rambling state broadcast on Sunday in a statement to journalists.
He stated that the APC is not surprised by the governor’s panic after failing to secure his party’s Presidential and later Vice Presidential tickets in order to cover up his alleged financial and other atrocities committed during his tenure as Minister of Education and governor.
Wike was also accused by the Rivers State APC spokesman of offering to work for APC Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in exchange for a safe landing and protection after the 2023 general election.
“As Wike continues to court the APC for protection after the 2023 general elections, a close ally of the APC Presidential Candidate, Gov Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and other APC stalwarts will be in Rivers State this week to either commission projects undertaken by Gov. Wike or flag off others,” the statement reads.
“However, it did not take long for any astute observer to realize that Gov. Wike’s 19-paragraph broadcast was merely a knee-jerk reaction by the governor to combat his fear of his own shadow.” If the governor’s threat to demolish hotels and leisure facilities where politicians hold meetings is any indication, he has used crude and primitive methods to intimidate and subdue his political opponents before, having done so during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The APC is not surprised by Gov. Wike’s threat. His house (PDP) is collapsing in front of his eyes. His main men of yesterday have become political foes today, for obvious reasons. Faces in his entourage have been changing frequently recently. We know that his threat is primarily aimed at his henchmen who have taken control of their own fates and are rebelling against the local potentate. Across the state, these men have joined forces with Wike’s chief tormentor, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
“The Rivers State APC has some news for Governor Wike. He is in no position to demolish any APC member’s hotel, leisure establishment, or property in Rivers State under any guise. This message should be well received. It is entirely up to his party members to allow him to exact the same jungle justice on them that the world witnessed during the last pandemic high noon. The anarchy Wike will unleash if he attempts it against any APC member will have the dimensions of an apocalypse of epic proportions. We hope the governor takes notice of this warning.
“We want the governor to understand that his time is running out.” He should accept this fact and not add to his woes as power and immunity fade away in a matter of months.”
