The Rivers State Government is calling for the documentation of all hotel guests ahead of the yuletide season.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Israel Ngbuelo, stated this earlier today at a familiarization and interactive meeting with hoteliers and restaurant operators in the state.
Dr. Ngbuelo clarified that those demarketing Rivers State do so out of self-interest. However, he affirmed that Rivers State is conducive for business growth, adding that the era of crisis is over.
In his remakr, the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ishmael Tomoni-Aladieokuma, asked hoteliers to maintain cleanliness, ensure security, and possess the requisite management capacity to restore Port Harcourt’s Garden City status.
Meanwhile, Eugene Nwauzi, Chairman of the Nigeria Hotels Association, Rivers State, appealed to the government to develop policies enhancing the hospitality sector. Other stakeholders requested hotel registration, standard enforcement, and electricity supply interventions.
