The unveiling of Shettima was open to all, including clergymen – Tinubu Campaign Management

THE Tinubu Campaign Organisation has called the viral pictures and videos of some Christian clergymen and women at the unveiling of the All Progressives Congress Vice Presidential candidate, Senator KASHIM SHETTIMA, on Wednesday in Abuja, unwarranted distractions.

Senator Shettima was formally introduced to the public and the party’s various organs as the running mate to the party’s presidential standard-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at a well-attended ceremony at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

In their speeches at the unveiling, Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Shettima, Governors Fayemi and Bagudu, and party chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, addressed fundamental issues of nation building that the APC and our candidates are focused on delivering, so that we can have a progressive and prosperous nation where all citizens can find joy and fulfillment.

The TCO, through its Director of Media and Communication, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, stated that the event was open to the public, allowing clergymen and others who are now being vilified by opposition hirelings to attend.

“We want to state unequivocally that those clergymen were not imposters, mechanics, or yam sellers, as the purveyors of hatred have led Nigerians to believe on social media.” They are not household names in Christendom yet, but they are gradually expanding their missions.

“They are church leaders who sincerely believe that Nigerians must abandon politics of hatred and religious bigotry in favor of peace and nation building.”

“We therefore condemn the hysterical twisting of these men and women in cassocks’ presence, as well as the false accusation leveled against our candidates, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Shettima.”

“The orchestrated social media sensation over the men’s presence is unnecessary and all calculated to detract from the enormous success recorded at the historic event on Wednesday.”

“We believe Nigerians are too wise and astute to fall for this ruse.” Asiwaju Tinubu and his running mate, as well as our great party, are working tirelessly to provide purposeful leadership and good progressive governance that will improve Nigerians’ quality of life.

“We are well aware that the opposition parties and sponsors of the social media charade are nervous and threatened by our candidates’ intimidating political credentials.” The only way they hope to divert public attention away from their unimpressive candidates and credentials is through social media distraction.

“Our campaign is committed to focusing on core governance issues that affect all Nigerians in order to confront them and make the desired improvements in our people’s standard of living.”
