There are pressing tasks ahead – NNPP guber candidate tells caretaker committee

The gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the last general elections in Ogun State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi, has enjoined members of the newly inaugurated caretaker committee of the party in the state to place the party’s interests over personal interests.
Ajadi made this disclosure in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday.
Ajadi contested the gubernatorial election held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 on the platform of NNPP.
TRACKNEWS recalls that the caretaker committee headed by Prince Ibrahim Adekunle was inaugurated in the state on Thursday.
The caretaker committee was set up after the expulsion of the former chairman of the party, Olaposi Sunday Oginni.
Oginni, was expelled from the party over anti-party activities.
The NNPP candidate used the medium to thank the national leadership of the party for taking such a step.
Ajadi, while speaking further, described the emergence of Adekunle as the caretaker committee chairman of the party as the best thing ever to happen to the party in the state.
He said that he has the conviction that the newly appointed caretaker committee members will learn from the mistakes of the expelled executives.
He advised the caretaker committee members to work harder, so as to position the party ahead of pressing tasks ahead.
In the statement made available to newsmen on Saturday, Ajadi said, “I urge you all to place the party’s interest over personal interest. As we welcome the new leadership, I offer sincere appreciation to the national leadership for providing energetic and purposeful leadership in Ogun State at a very critical period of the party’s history.
“I enjoin those who are now saddled with the responsibility of our party’s affairs to work harder to position our party for the pressing tasks ahead.
“While it is true that the people have accepted and adopted our party as the only political party that can move the state forward, we must continuously work to strengthen and reform the party to gain the leadership position in the state.”
