There is no Biafran government in exile, according to IPoB
By Adeleye Kunle
THE IPoB, or Indigenous People of Biafra, described the purported Biafra Government in Exile as a ruse that should be ignored yesterday.
IPOB also stated that the group, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has not established any government in exile and has thus disassociated itself completely from the purported government, claiming that IPoB has legitimate and well-established institutions as well as a well-structured administrative hierarchy that oversees its day-to-day administration of Biafra affairs.
According to IPoB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the world is aware of IPoB’s agitation and communicates with IPoB as the responsible authority that oversees the affairs of the Biafran people, whether nationally or internationally, and that all diplomatic missions and countries around the world are aware of Biafra.
“We, the global movement and noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, under Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to reiterate once more to Biafrans, friends of Biafra, and lovers of freedom around the world that IPoB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, has not established any Government In Exile, GIE.” As a result, we completely distance ourselves from the ostensible Government in Exile.
“IPoB has legitimate and well-established institutions, as well as a well-structured administrative hierarchy that oversees Biafra affairs on a daily basis.” Already, all diplomatic missions and countries around the world are aware of the Biafra agitation, and they communicate with the IPoB as the responsible authority that oversees the Biafran people’s affairs, whether nationally or internationally.
“The IPoB has international contacts and connections through our established institutions and structures, not through any worthless Government in Exile.” As a result, anyone or group peddling or claiming to have established a government in exile has embarked on a jamboree similar to those who came before them claiming to have established a government in exile at one point in time.
“They simply do not deserve to be given any attention because this is the channel through which the Nigerian government wishes to dilute our call for total freedom.” We are not unaware that some expelled IPoB dissidents, including a former deputy to our leader, once proposed this Government in Exile to our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, but he did not buy into it, fully aware of how unnecessary it is at this stage of our struggle.
“It is unfortunate that now that our leader is detained, these same elements saw it as an opportunity to realize their selfish ambition by quickly claiming to have established the non-existent GIE.” We know their ultimate goal is to use it to sell the Biafra struggle to our adversaries, but they have failed miserably.
“We knew that many infiltrators backed by some unfortunate politicians were fighting hard to sell Biafra freedom via their main infiltrator hiding in Finland.” He has run out of gimmicks to keep himself afloat, so he decided to deceive his gullible followers with the latest claims of purported GIE gimmick.”
