Those Who Burnt Aguata LG Not From Anambra – Soludo
Governor Charles Soludo has said that the arsonists who burnt down Ekwulobia, the headquarters of Aguata Local Government Area are not from Anambra.
Recall that TrackNews earlier reported that the Aguata Local Government Area headquarters, Anambra State, came under attack by arsonists believed to be gunmen in the South East.
The council Headquarters was set on fire by attackers who are believed to be the same people that attacked the market in the council, Eke Ekwulobia.
Reacting to the incident, the governor said that those responsible for the attacks are not residents of Anambra but fleeing criminals who were chased from their operational camp and hideout by Nigerian security forces.
He stated further that military operations at the borders of Aguluezechukwu and Ogborji communities in the Local Government had led to the dislodging of the criminal elements who has been operating in the area for over two years.
He said: ”They were smoked out, the camp destroyed and as they were fleeing cowardly, they decided to set the Local Government Secretariat ablaze but thank God the police came on time and smoked them out.
“From the statistics so far, 85 per cent of people arrested come from one of the states in the South East and the remaining 15 per cent from another state in the Southeast.
”It is really our people doing this to themselves.”
