Three (3) Bayelsa APC Membership Slot on the 555 Tertiary Institutions Board Appointments

…….(PYC) Blows Hot Accuses APC Led Federal Govt of Neglecting Bayelsa APC and
Breaching the Constitutional Principles of Federal Character
……Calls on Bayelsa APC Members to Rather Join Hands & Work With Douye Diri who Obviously Has Everyone at Heart
Following the announcement of appointment of over 555 members from across the country into the Boards of various tertiary institutions, by the APC led Federal Government, the popular Prosperity Youths Coalition (PYC) led by its leader Snr.Comrade Doubara Kumokou has decried the inclusion of just Three Bayelsans.
Commenting on the appointments, the PYC scribe Ayebakuro Igbeta Esq described the recent appointment as anti-Bayelsa and against the spirits of the Federal Character legislation, calling the situation an awkward aberration, Igbeta frowned that beyond breach of the Federal Character Act, the composition of the appointments ridicules Bayelsans in the APC who are only to serve as members, as if been insignificant or maybe not fit and proper intellectually and otherwise.
Recall that the Presidency yesterday announced appointment of 555 party faithfuls and stalwarts into the Management Boards of the various Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education across the Country, and even though the Federal Character Act enjoins the balance of appointments along regional, ethnic and state lines, only Three (3) Bayelsans were recognized for the appointments.

Describing the situation as unfortunate, the PYC queried the agenda of the Federal Government in these appointments. Speaking further, Igbeta called on Bayelsans especially the youths within the ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to make a U-turn at this juncture and embrace the Gov. Douye Diri led PDP Prosperity administration in state, as time and again the state government has shown that it’s intention is to carry everyone along, evident in the appointment of Three renowned APC Members into his initial list of 14 Commissioners, this is a testament to Diri’s non-partisan, unbiased approach to governance which he defines clearly separate from politics.
“In my opinion, the Federal Government APC led by the President does not care about its members in bayelsa, the former leadership of the party ruled Nigerian on the basis of 95%/5%, maybe Tinubu’s regime is progressing in that direction, therefore Bayelsans can not expect to benefit in that equation, our brothers in the APC must be quick to realize that the Presidency may be operating with the “bird and butterfly” narrative as made popular by the renowned playwrite and novelist Ola Rotimi. We are even aware that even One out of the Three Bayelsans that made the list, is a favour bestowed from far away Lagos state, thus only Two were grudgingly appointed from APC Bayelsa State, this action tells just one thing, that Bayelsa does not exist in the mind and action plan of the Presidency” Igbeta stated in part.
The PYC scribe, expressed that been one of the most active and effective youths based political body in state, the PYC is willing and ready to absorb into its folds and the PDP, APC Members who have recognized this disdain and are ready to turn around for the better, as Diri and the PDP remain the better alternative for Bayelsan youths who wish to make impact.
