Thugs Destroy PDP Campaign Office in Gombe, According to APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has distanced itself from the attack on the campaign office of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Mohammed Barde.
Track News previously reported that political thugs set fire to Barde’s campaign office in the early hours of Monday.
In response to the incident, the PDP blamed the APC for the attack on Barde’s campaign office.
Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director General for Press Affairs to Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya, stated that the PDP is only interested in cheap publicity.
Misilli stated that the state Governor would never have directed someone to attack Barde’s PDP campaign office.
He also stated that the PDP is not a threat to the APC because it has consolidated its hold in the state.
According to Misilli’s statement, “there is no reason why the governor or any critical stakeholder in the APC would instruct someone to attack the PDP campaign office.” Because the PDP has consolidated its hold on the state, it poses no threat to the APC.
“The governor is a law-abiding citizen, and he cannot instruct or permit someone to violate state law and order.” The PDP is only looking for cheap publicity and sympathy by torching its campaign headquarters and blaming it on the government.
“The APC has no reason to do so when we are certain of a landslide victory in the upcoming election.”
