Tinubu asked To Increase number of Opposition Members In Cabinet

President Bola Tinubu has been told to include more opposition members in his cabinet which could lead to economic growth.
TrackNews Media reports that the suggestion was made by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
Recall that the President had last Thursday, through his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, delivered the first batch of ministerial nominees, which contains 28 names with four former governors, seven women, and 16 other notable Nigerians.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Chinyere Kalu, IPAC commended the president for meeting the 60 days deadline for submission of his ministerial list and suggested that more opposition members should be added as he appoints ministers to drive the nation’s economy.
The statement added that the IPAC National Chairman, Engr. Yabagi Y. Sani said the President should “do away with the winner takes all syndrome and chart a way forward for the nation.”
He remarked that “Following the release of the much-awaited ministerial list of nominees to the Senate on Thursday, July 27, 2023, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has called for the need for more inclusivity for stability in the body polity.
“it is noteworthy that the President brought on board people with good professional track records, thereby fulfilling his promise of uniting Nigerians on the mantra of ‘Renewed Hope.’
“However, while acknowledging and appreciating the way he has run the affairs of the State thus far, IPAC suggests that Mr. President should do away with the winner takes all syndrome and chart a way forward for the nation.
“The National Chairman called on Mr. President to be more magnanimous by bringing on board more opposition party members, which will be in tandem with his campaign promises to all Nigerians and even after the election, where he pledged to run an all-inclusive government.”
