Tinubu/Shettima ticket is best for Nigeria right now, according to APC chair.
Adeleye Kunle Reports
The Tinubu/Shettima ticket is the best for Nigeria right now, according to All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu, TrackNews reports
According to Adamu, who spoke with TrackNews, the ticket is the best winning strategy for the ruling party in next year’s election.
Also yesterday, House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, who accompanied presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on a Wednesday visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, said the former leader was favorable to his candidacy.
While not everyone in a democracy can be persuaded to take the same path, Adamu claims there is overwhelming evidence that voting on the same faith ticket is the best option.
“You see, with the situation we’re in, you can’t convince everyone,” he explained. It’s a democracy, and everyone has a right, but we believe that the same faith ticket is the best option for Nigeria right now.
“However, we will not back down. We will work hard to persuade Nigerians to fully support the Tinubu/Shettima ticket; every party has a strategy, and this is the strategy we believe will work best for us.”
Despite the country’s current security and economic challenges, the chairman expressed optimism about victory, insisting that the situation “will not prevent them from winning the election.”
“Insecurity exists in the country, and each country faces its own type of insecurity.” The media does not adequately publicize government efforts.”
According to Gbajabiamila, who spoke at the Surulere Local Government Area (LGA) APC meeting, Obasanjo made encouraging statements about Tinubu’s candidacy and prayed for him.
“We were eight when we went to Obasanjo’s house, including Asiwaju Tinubu and me; we didn’t want many people to know about the meeting,” he explained. So we were supposed to meet Obasanjo and five others from his entourage.
“However, when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find a massive crowd of our supporters waiting for us at the former president’s house.”
“So, Obasanjo told Asiwaju Tinubu to choose three people from his side, and he would choose three people from his side to meet behind closed doors.”
“As a result, I, Chief Osoba, Chief Akande, and Asiwaju left our side.” My people, based on what I heard there and what Obasanjo said, Asiwaju’s victory is assured.
“Obasanjo spoke for a long time, and we were all pleased. He embraced our candidate as if he were a brother, patted him on the back, and prayed for him profusely.”
According to analysts and observers, the 2023 election will be a three-horse race, according to Gbajabiamila.
He did, however, state that Tinubu was the candidate with the best track record of performance and network.
The Speaker urged party supporters in Surulere to work tirelessly for Tinubu and all APC candidates in next year’s election.
“All indications point to three main candidates for the election.”
We have everyone’s records, and we know what they did and did not do.
“Two were former governors, and we know the one whose records will stand the test of time, as well as how the other people performed while in office.”
“But one thing is certain: none of the three candidates has Tinubu’s track record.”
“He is the best of them all, and I have no doubt that he will win in 2023,” he said.
Gbajabiamila expressed gratitude to the people of the local government area for their support and for the opportunity to serve them.
He stated that being elected to serve was an honor for him, and that he would continue to fulfill his electoral promises to improve the lives of the people in the area.
“In Surulere, everything is Gbaja this, Gbaja that.” Our footprints and even fingerprints can be found on roads, hospitals, street lights, and other structures.
“I appreciate your help in making this all possible. “I promise to keep doing my best to make a difference in Surulere’s lives,” he said.
Mr Sulaiman Yusuf, Chairman of Surulere Local Government, also spoke and thanked Gbajabiamila for his contributions to the community.
He stated that the many projects that the Speaker had facilitated in Surulere had made the council’s work easier.
“However, there is still much work to be done, which is why we are urging everyone in the local government area to remain loyal to the APC.”
“You should use your PVCs to ensure that APC’s good works in Surulere, Lagos, and beyond continue.”
“Parents should help their children vote for our party.” “Our Speaker has done well, and he, like Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, deserves another term,” he said.
He charged party members in the local government area with working for Tinubu’s re-election in 2023.
Mr Sheriff Folarin, a former sole administrator of the local government and an APC chieftain in the area, has urged Surulere APC members to mobilize other residents to vote APC in 2023.
“The purpose of calling this LGA meeting is for us to know what we need to do starting now.”
“We should start telling people to vote for our party next year.” “Having the PVC isn’t enough; we should tell them to use it for their preferred party,” he said.
According to the Track News, at the meeting, party chairmen from the various wards in the local government presented reports on their activities over the previous three months.
Mr Bayo Gafar, APC Chairman, Ward E, Surulere, stated that during the last INEC registration exercise, over 95% of residents in his ward were mobilized to obtain their PVCs.
“We will work hard to ensure that the majority of these people with PVCs vote for all of our candidates in 2023,” he said.
