Tinubu’s Reaction to the Muslim-Muslim Ticket did not move the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.

The announcement of Senator Kashim Shettima as the running mate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, did not move the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.
The leaders of the umbrella Christian organization said they were determined to resist any form of intimidation, including the political party’s announcement of a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
Rev. John Hayab, chairman of the association’s Kaduna state chapter, stated this in an interview with Vanguard on Sunday.
Tinubu, a Muslim, had previously told journalists in Daura, Katsina state, that he had chosen Shettima (another Muslim) as his substantive running mate to replace APC vice-presidential candidate Ibrahim Masari.
In response to the political development, Hayab stated, “We were prepared for this announcement.” Several media outlets have been notified. All we need is the right signal to elicit a full-fledged reaction.
We will take this matter further because it appears that our call for fairness and balancing the presidential ticket for the sake of justice, unity, and fairness has gone unheeded.
“However, CAN is determined to go to any length to protect the Nigerian Church’s interests.” “We will not be moved by intimidation,” the Northern Region CAN leader added.
He reiterated that a more profound reaction would be made available to the public through the media in the near future.
