Traditional rulers crucial to nation’s security – Nigeria Police

The Nigeria Police has solicited the support and cooperation of traditional rulers in the fight against crime and criminality.
Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Emmanuel Effiong stated this when he visited the Emir of Dutse in his palace.
He said he was in the palace to solicit the support and cooperation of the royal father to enable him to succeed in the discharge of his duties.
CP Effiong explained that the role of traditional rulers in maintaining the security of the nation can not be overemphasised.
He, however, assured the Emir that the police would work with traditional institutions to achieve its target.
The Emir of Dutse, Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi in his remarks, re-affirmed the councils’ commitment to continue working with security agencies for the maintenance of peace and harmony.
He said Jigawa State is among states with relative peace in the country and urged the new commissioner to maintain the existing peace in the state
