Transfer: Busquets’ new club after leaving Barcelona confirmed
Sergio Busquets will join former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi at Inter Miami FC this summer.
The Major League Soccer (MLS) side confirmed his arrival on Friday.
Busquets left Barca following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his 18-year stay with the LaLiga club.
The 34-year-old spoke with Saudi sides Al Nassr and Al Hilal in recent weeks, before deciding to choose Miami.
He will now be reunited with seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi in South Florida.
Messi joins the MLS club after his own contract also expired at Paris Saint-Germain.
Busquets and Messi spent 13 years playing alongside each other in Barca’s first team before Messi’s move to Paris in 2021
