Troops rescue six hostages in Kaduna

Kaduna State government says the troops of the Nigerian Army, during their clearance patrols conducted around the Kangon Kadi general area in Chikun Local Government Area, rescued six kidnapped victims.
The kidnapped victims that were rescued are Iliya Gide, Rabi Ali, Hussaina Gide, Naomi Nuhu and her baby, as well as Pamela Barage.
Samuel Aruwan, the State Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in a statement explained that, “troops of the Nigerian Army rescued six kidnapped victims during clearance patrols conducted around the Kangon Kadi general area in Chikun Local Government Area.”
The statement further explained that the troops, under the “Operation Forest Sanity”, according to operational feedback undertook a clearance operation from Damba to Kangon Kadi, and fired on identified bandits’ locations around the Kangon Kadi forest, Labi and the Udawa river.
According to the statement, the bandits fled from the Kangon Kadi area under the superior firepower of the troops, leaving behind six kidnapped victims at their camp, leading to the rescue of the victims by the troops.
The statement stated that Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i noted the report with gratitude, and commended the troops for sustaining valiant efforts across several fronts.
The statement assured that the citizens would be updated on further developments by the State government
