Trouble for Emir Sanusi as Kano anti-corruption agency to arrest chief of staff, 2 others

TRACKING>>- Emir Sanusi’s chief of staff is reportedly set to be arrested by the Kano state anti-corruption agency
– Two other members of staff of the Emir are also marked for arrest
– The trio reportedly refused to appear before the agency despite invitation to do so
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission is reportedly set to arrest Alhaji Munir Sanusi who is the chief of staff to the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Daily Trust reports that the anti-corruption agency is making this move over the refusal of the Emir’s chief of staff to appear before it for questioning.
Two other members of the Kano Emirate Council, Mujitaba Abba and Sani Muhammad Kwaru, are also set to be arrested for the same reason.
This is related to the ongoing probe of Sanusi over alleged questionable expenditure of over N4 billion.
A source in the legal department of the commission confirmed that the agency has concluded arrangement to move a motion of exparte before a chief magistrate court 18 in Kano on Tuesday, May 28, to secure an order for their arrest.
Meanwhile, Abba Yusuf, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano state, promised to reverse the law establishing four additional emirates in the state by Governor Umar Ganduje.
While condemning Ganduje’s alleged plot to whittle down Emir Sanusi’s power, Abba-Yusuf, described the move to create additional liabilities as a means to embezzle public treasury.
The governorship candidate said he would reverse law establishing four emirates when he secures his ‘stolen’ mandate at the election petition tribunal.
