The God’s Divine Mandate Project 2027 Team, led by Hon. Opumie Collins Trueman, has intensified consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections with a series of high-level visits in Bayelsa State. The team paid a courtesy visit to Elder Adolphus Ofongo, a former leader of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, at his residence in Yenagoa to seek his support and blessings for Trueman’s political ambition.

During the visit, Trueman formally presented his intention to contest for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly seat representing Southern Ijaw Local Government Area Constituency 3. He is seeking to run under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), positioning himself as a grassroots candidate with a vision for unity and development.

Hon. Trueman, an indigene of Opuama Main Town in Southern Ijaw, is described by supporters as a committed grassroots politician from Ward 13. He has built his political profile around community engagement and youth mobilization, with a stated goal of restoring unity and progress within the Bomo Clan and the wider constituency.

Speaking during the engagement, members of the team highlighted Trueman’s track record as a youth leader and his continued involvement in local political activities. They described him as a peace-loving and energetic figure who has consistently advocated for positive change and inclusive leadership.

The delegation emphasized that Trueman’s ambition is driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to governance at the state level. They noted that his campaign, under the banner of the God’s Divine Mandate Project 2027, is focused on strengthening representation and addressing local concerns through legislative action.

In response, Elder Adolphus Ofongo welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit. He encouraged the team to remain focused and committed to their objectives, while offering words of support as they continue their consultations.

The team also visited Hon. (Barr.) Timi Woko, recently elected Chairman of the APC in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. The visit served both as a congratulatory gesture and an opportunity to formally inform him of Trueman’s ambition and seek the backing of the party leadership at the local level.

During the meeting, the team reiterated their commitment to working within the framework of the APC to achieve their political goals. They stressed the importance of party unity and collaboration in securing electoral success in 2027.

Hon. Woko, in his response, expressed gratitude for the visit and acknowledged the team’s efforts in mobilizing support. He encouraged them to remain steadfast and not relent in their pursuit of the mandate, noting that political success requires persistence and strategic engagement.

Observers note that the consultations form part of early political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections in Bayelsa State. Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 is expected to witness increased political activity as aspirants begin to position themselves and build alliances within party structures.

The outreach by Trueman and his team underscores the importance of securing endorsements from key stakeholders, including party leaders and respected political figures. Such engagements are seen as critical in consolidating grassroots support and strengthening credibility within the political landscape.

As the political season gradually builds, more consultations and declarations are anticipated across the state, with aspirants seeking to establish visibility and support networks ahead of party primaries and the general elections.
