Uniport VC commends Amotoi CEO for corporate philanthropy

Prof. Owunari Georgewill, Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, paid a scheduled visit to Barr. Amunaboye Clement, Managing Director/CEO of Amotoi Global Services Limited.

In his remarks, Prof. Owunari disclosed that the visit was to appreciate Barr. Clement for the collaborative relationship between the educational institution and the energy company.

The VC stated that apart from providing school fees and stipends to 50 students in the University for the current academic session, Amotoi has been sponsoring entrepreneurship competitions and workshops.

The university don equally commended Barr. Clement, his wife, and the firm’s board members for their commitment to supporting higher education through partnership with the institution.

Responding, Barr. Clement, profusely thanked the VC for the visit, stressing that his family and the entire management and staff of Amotoi do not take the gesture for granted.

“We shall continue partnering with the university in more areas this year, including scholarships and the promotion of entrepreneurial skills.

“Our plan is to extend Amotoi’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to infrastructural development in the near future,” the business magnate hinted.

He further appreciated the VC for his role in making the company’s strategic partnership endeavours a success.

He said: “Let me admit that I am impressed with your leadership qualities and how you have been able to maintain the high standards of our beloved Unique Uniport.

“The recent Nigerian University Ranking by uniRank in which Uniport topped the list of 160 tertiary institutions is evidence of your purposeful leadership and the consistent efforts you have been making for the school to succeed.”

The VC was accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Administration, Prof. Clifford Ofurum, and the newly-appointed Director of the University of Port Harcourt Entrepreneurial Centre (UPEC), Dr. Waribugo Sylva.
