The Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Lagos has denied any knowledge of the alleged hospitalisation of Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky, who was reportedly rushed to Falomo Police Hospital.

Bobrisky, whose real name is Okuneye Idris, was arrested by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border on Monday while allegedly attempting to flee the country.

After being transferred to the FCID in Alagbon for further investigation, reports surfaced that the social media personality had complained of severe chest pain and was rushed to the hospital.

“Bobrisky complained of ‘breast’ pain and was rushed to the Police Hospital in the Falomo area of Lagos around 2:00 p.m. in an ambulance with the plate number LND 339L. He wore a black gown, covered his face with a shawl, and lay down in the ambulance,” the reports quoted a source to have said.

However, FCID spokesperson Aminat Mayegun, when contacted by TheCable Lifestyle, stated that she was unaware of the crossdresser’s reported medical condition.

“Nobody reported that to me. I am not aware. If you see it you can share with me,” she said.

Bobrisky is currently being held at the FCID for further investigation. His arrest follows allegations of bribery and money laundering, including a viral audio clip where the crossdresser claimed to have paid N15 million to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop charges against him. Bobrisky has since denied the allegations, calling the recording fake and threatening legal action.

Meanwhile, an investigative panel previously stated that there was no evidence that Bobrisky slept outside of prison during his earlier six-month jail term, as he had reportedly claimed. As the investigation continues, the FCID has yet to release an official statement regarding Bobrisky’s current status.
