Vice President Shettima Commends MTN Nigeria For N1 Billion Donation And Digital Support For Education

In a significant display of corporate social responsibility, MTN Nigeria has made a substantial contribution to the Federal Government’s efforts to alleviate hardship and boost digital literacy in the country.
This announcement was made during a meeting between the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, and the Chairman of MTN Nigeria, Mr. Ernest Ndukwe, at the Presidential Villa.
The telecom giant has pledged a donation of N1 billion to the Federal Government’s Food Support Programme, demonstrating its commitment to addressing the current economic challenges faced by many Nigerians.
Additionally, MTN Nigeria will provide 4,600 units of digital devices for distribution to schools across the country, furthering its support for educational development and digital inclusion.
Vice President Shettima expressed his appreciation for MTN’s gesture, stating, “This gesture towards supporting our efforts in addressing hardship in the country is worthy of emulation and indicative of the company’s commitment to the development of the Nigerian economy.” He further emphasized his pride in MTN’s stability as a company and its dedication to Nigeria’s progress.
To ensure transparency and effective utilization of the donation, the Vice President announced that the funds and resources will be managed jointly by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
