VIDEO: Businessman Terrorises Carlton Estate Residents With Police, CTU
Agency Report
Residents of Carlton Estate in Lekki have accused businessman Kennedy Okonkwo of using his security details to terrorize fellow residents of the estate.
In a CCTV footage obtained by Newsbreak Nigeria, the businessman’s security details were seen harassing security officials manning the estate gate.
Residents have urged the state police command to take immediate action against the businessman who is violating the rights of the estate’s residents, noting that this is not the first time the business mogul has used security officials to terrorize residents.
“This is about a resident in our estate, Carlton Estate, Chevron Drive Lekki. His name is Mr. Kennedy Okonkwo. He has been using his Mopol and CTU guys to terrorise residents in the estate.
“We urgently need the commissioner of police to look into it and take action,” a statement made available to Newsbreak Nigeria read.
According to a resident, Mr Okonkwo’s wife had directed her driver and security details to block the estate gate due to her failure to purchase the estate ticket, which is required to enter the estate.
The Estate Union agreed in June that all residents must obtain the stickers; however, the union offered estate identity cards to those who were concerned about displaying the stickers on their vehicles for security reasons.
Ms Kennedy was denied entry into the estate’s gate reserved for residents because she did not have the estate’s sticker or identity card.
The lady, however, instructed her driver to block the main gate, which made it difficult for other residents to enter or leave the estate.
