War On Soot: Ikwerre LGA Chairman Impounds Vehicles Loaded With Kpofire Refined Products

The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Council Dr Samuel Nwanosike last night apprehended some individuals with their vehicles loaded with illegal crude oil
Earlier in the the the the chairman Dr. Nwanosike made the assurance on Thursday during the signing of into law a bill on the regulation and control of illegal packing of trucks and vehicles along the main roads in Ikwerre Local Government Area and the 2022 appropriation bill at the Exco Chambers in Ikwerre Council Secretariat, Isiokpo.
Also, he inaugurated a committee to checkmate illegal packing of vehicles, oil bunkering activities and street trading in Ikwerre Local Government Area, as directed by the Rivers State Government.
The Ikwerre Council boss said, “I want to assure the people of Ikwerre Local Government that with the strength of these laws the directive of the State Government, led by His Excellency, Governor Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, will be carried out to the latter to the good of our people to make sure we live and do business in a healthy environment”,

Hon (Prince) Chris Omodu, on Thursday, 6 January, 2022 (Lifted In quotes) stated that the Chairman also handed over the vehicles laden with illegally refined petroleum products that were intercepted by him and some security operatives at Apani and Elele over to the police.
He said, “I want to assure the people of Ikwerre Local Government that with the strength of these laws the directive of the State Government, led by His Excellency, Governor Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, will be carried out to the latter to the good of our people to make sure we live and do business in a healthy environment”, Dr Nwanosike assured.
He noted that few minority of the people cannot claim they were hungry due to unemployment and destroy the ecosystem or environment without minding that tomorrow exists.
“When you eat today and you are not alive to eat tomorrow, of what sense is that way of life”?, Ikwerre Council Chairman queried.
He frowned at the situation where most communities in the LGA allow their the activities of illegal oil refining, while mentioning Isiokpo, Elele, Omerelu, Omagwa, Aluu and Igwuruta in particular.
