– Encomiums from prominent Nigerians continue to pour in for Late Chief Tony Anenih

– APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has joined in honouring the late PDP chieftain

– PDP stalwart, Alhaji Kabiru Turaki also offered his condolence to Anenih’s family

All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Sunday, October 28, described the late Chief Anenih as “a political colossus.”

In a statement sent to journalists by his spokesman, Simon Ebegbulem, Oshiomhole said: “Politics may have separated us, but nothing affected our personal relationship.”

He continued: “Whatever public disagreement we might have had, I am consoled that we both reconciled at the church altar after he announced his retirement from partisan politics.

“It is a measure of his generosity of spirit that when I announced my interest in the chairmanship of APC earlier this year, he wrote a letter of endorsement expressing absolute confidence in my ability to inspire APC to greater heights.

“His explicit support was not just in an objective appreciation of my ability but also in solidarity as fellow Edo man.

“We may have disagreed in terms of methodology, but there is no denying that deep in his heart was a commitment to see the progress of the nation at large and his native Edo in particular.”

Similarly, a former minister of special duties and inter-governmental affairs, Kabiru Turaki, has extended his heart felt condolences to the family of Chief Tony Anenih.

“The world mourns with you to celebrate the extra ordinary life of this remarkable man who devoted his life to promoting democracy and peaceful coexistence among different tribes in the country,” Turaki said in a short statement sent to TRACK NEWS

Former vice president; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Senate President; Dr Bukola Saraki and his deputy; Ike Ekweremadu, had earlier paid homage to Late Chief Anenih.
