Obi reiterated his unwavering love for Nigeria and unwavering belief in its indivisibility, saying that Nigeria can and will emerge from the woods of failed political leadership.

The LP Presidential candidate urged everyone, especially those in the diaspora, to help Nigeria develop in whatever capacity they could.

He praised diaspora Nigerians’ efforts to develop the country and urged them not to give up because, no matter how comfortable they become in another country, Nigeria will always be their home.

“I love Nigeria irrevocably,” he said, “and I believe that no matter how far we travel or how successful we become outside of Nigeria, we will never have another country to call our own but Nigeria.” This is why I have continued to do everything in my personal and group capacity to support Nigeria’s march to greatness.”

Obi stated that he could have obtained residency and citizenship rights in any country he desired, but he refused because he believes in the Nigeria project.

“When I left the UK after living there for over ten years, I returned everything that belonged to them,” Obi explained. I have a singular focus on Nigeria, and I do not believe I require citizenship or residency rights in any other country if I have not exhausted my natural-born rights and privileges as a Nigerian.

“If I am not in Nigeria today and there is a war there, I will find a way to return because I would rather die in my country, Nigeria, than live free in another man’s country.”
