When Did It Become Wrong Not to Have Sex Before Marriage?” – Oap Dotun Queries
On-air media personality, Dotun, has weighed in on the trending discussion of abstaining from sex before marriage. He asked when it became wrong for people in love to abstain from sex before marriage.
This is coming amidst the allegations of homosexuality levied against Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, by his enstranged fiancee, Fancy Acholonu because he allegedly refused to be intimate with her for the five years their relationship lasted.
Giving his own opinion, OAP Dotun stated that premarital sex, should be discouraged to make relationships sacred, resolute and Godly.
According to him having sex before marriage is a sin and should not be practiced. He added that people should stop judging Alex Ekubo’s sexuality because he abstained from premarital sex without knowing the reason for his decision.
In his words,
“The last I checked, sex before marriage was discouraged to make relationships sacred, resolute & Godly. When did it become wrong not to have it before marriage? Haven’t you all seen now that everything we considered bad is now good and what was seen as good is now bad?.
What I am simply saying is, they said “dont have sex before marriage because it’s a sin. The same way they said being a virgin before marriage is a good thing. Counselors, The Bible, our parents told us. So why are these things now seen as bad when you don’t do them?” He wrote in part.
This is the issue. You have judged someone on his sexuality without asking why they didn’t. Let’s assume he is, it’s in her place to tell us not in cryptic messages on what she saw. As for you, Dem don knack you before that you are so sure he is queer”.
