When Tinubu was Gov, lagosians said no to his radical decisions but later praised him- Obanikoro

A former minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has asked Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. While speaking about some of the decisions taken by the Tinubu administration since it assumed office, Obanikoro recalled how Lagosians said no to some of the radical changes Tinubu made while he was Governor but later began to sing his praises.
He said, “Some of the decisions that Asiwaju has taken in the last 30 days has shown that he is ready to play with the international community. And if you look at the review that came out of New York Times and other major international newspapers, they saw him as someone who has come to open up Nigeria to a new way of life.
And I had a unique position of serving under him as a commissioner when he first came as Governor of Lagos State. When he came in with those radical decisions and policies, a lot of people were shouting nay nay nay! But in almost a year to our administration, we were able to convert the whole of Lagos on our side. For instance, where we went today to pray, our first Jumat service in Lagos, we were stoned o ut of that place. But after almost seven months when we came back, the whole of Lagos was singing his praise. So I want Nigerians to be patient with Asiwaju.”)
