Why I Bought 260 Exotic Cars For Zamfara Monarchs – Matawalle
Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has disclosed his reason for buying 260 exotic cars for the traditional rulers in the state.
Speaking during the distribution of the cars at the Government House, Gusau, on Wednesday, Matawalle said he bought the cars to recognise the monarchs as the custodians of religion and culture.
The governor added that the gesture was made to appreciate the monarchs for being the vehicle of cohesion and peace in the state.
Matawalle stated that Cadillac 2019 Model and Hyundai cars were bought for 17 Emirs, 13 Senior District Heads and 230 District Heads across the state.
The governor also commissioned the Ultramodern headquarters of the State Council of Ulama.
“It is in view of the high esteem with which my administration regards our traditional leaders and institutions that we decided to procure brand new cars, Cadillac 2019 Model, for 17 Emirs, 13 Senior District Heads and 230 District Heads across the state,” he said.
In his remark, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, commended Matawalle for his interest in the welfare of the traditional institution, which he said still remains the thread that holds society together.
He also called on the monarchs to continue supporting the Matawalle administration by rendering their best in preaching peace in their domains.
