Why I didn’t sign Gareth Bale – Pep Guardiola

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has said that he tried to sign Gareth Bale but could not because the Walesman was too expensive.
The Spaniard said this while reacting to the news of Bale’s retirement from active football.
Guardiola believes that Bale can now become a great golf player.
Bale, a former Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur’s star and Real Madrid legend, announced his retirement from football on Monday.
Bale’s last club was Los Angeles FC in the MLS. And the 33-year-old won five UEFA Champions League titles – a feat no other British player has been able to match.
Addressing a post match press conference ahead of Manchester City’s Carabao Cup quarterfinal with Southampton on Wednesday, Guardiola said, “Too expensive. [Ever try to sign him] What a player.
“Fantastic career, won a lot of things. I think he represents Wales with more than 100 caps, and now he can become a fantastic golf player.
“[I invited him to play golf]. He was busy maybe; now he has time. I will invite him again
