Why I drug, steal from my female victims – Suspect
TRACKING_____A criminal suspect arrested by the police in Abuja has said he lures, drugs and steals valuables from his female victims “for the fun of it”. Javis Patrick, 43, was arrested by operatives of the CP Monitoring Unit of the FCT Police Command for allegedly drugging, raping and stealing valuables from his female victims. He was among the suspects recently paraded by the Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command, Bala Ciroma, on Thursday, along with several others arrested for various crimes. The police said he was arrested at a garden in Wuse 2, following a discreet investigation into his activities.
It was gathered that the suspect takes up different personalities to lure his victims; sometimes posing as a medical doctor and other times as a lawyer.
“The suspect and other members of his gang use “dating or hook-up” sites on social media to entice their unsuspecting victims. So far, twelve (12) of his female victims have made statements on their nasty experiences in the hands of the suspect. Effort is being intensified to arrest other members of his gang who are currently on the run,” the CP said.
Speaking with journalists, Patrick, however, denied raping his victims, saying he only steals from them. He said he normally walks up to his victims, “talk to them, collect their numbers and we start chatting.”
“I normally take them (women) to the hotel, drug them and take their phones. I was accused of raping them. But rape is not really my thing. It is just the phone,” he said. Asked how he would feel if his daughter should fall victim of the kind of crime he is being accused of, the father of four, said “very bad”.
