Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

The reason Ovie Omo-Agege entered the run for governor of Delta State has been made public ahead of the general elections in 2023.
The lawmaker, who was elected governor by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in May 2022, claimed that Delta needed visionary leadership to harness and put the state’s natural and human resources to good use. As a result, he entered the race with his extensive background in administrative work.

If given the chance, he claims, his administration will address the issues of unemployment, promote the development of human capital, and implement labor-intensive interventions in the areas of housing, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, and other industries that are important to his agenda.

According to Track News, Omo-Agege brought up these issues on Saturday when speaking to Urhobos in London, England, as part of the 2022 Urhobo Day celebration.

The politician emphasized during the ceremony that his goal for 2023 is to make Delta into a modern, well-run, and economically stable State that puts “People First.”

Our Edge Schedule
Our EDGE program to Build A New Delta (BAND) is based on four strong pillars: employment and empowerment; development; good governance; and enduring peace and security, according to Omo-Agege. The goal is to create a successful, egalitarian, and dynamic Delta State.

The time has come for me to collaborate with all progressive Urhobo sons and daughters as well as those of other ethnic nationalities in Delta State to build on this strong foundation and expand our success story in Delta Central to Delta North and Delta South Senatorial Districts. While I will continue to work for the progress of Urhobo, I believe that it is now necessary for me to do so.

“Delta State is a country of opportunities, as you doubtless know. Despite having abundant natural and human capital, our beloved State has lacked the creative leadership necessary to harness and utilize both of these resources for the benefit of its people. As long as the people who brought us to this point of despair are intransigent and refuse to reform, the situation will continue to deteriorate.

“Deltans want our darling state’s leadership to change in order to bring in new blood and improve governance. To quickly accelerate infrastructure development and turn the State into an industrialized institution capable of producing the jobs our people need, we need new political leadership with fresh ideas.

I’ll serve as governor forever.
He insisted that if given the opportunity to rule the state, he would serve all Deltans.

Omo-Agege predicted that the state will be fully developed and that Delta would reach previously unheard-of heights.

Because under his leadership, everyone’s needs will be satisfied in a good and sustainable way, he vowed, the residents will experience peace and progress.
