Wife dies, husband survives building collapse in Jigawa

TrackNews Nigeria has learnt that a married woman has lost his life to a sudden collapse of a building in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
When contacted, the Spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), CSC Adamu Shehu, confirmed the ugly occurrence on Tuesday.
CSC Shehu stated that it happened at about 11:30 p.m. and was due to the heavy rainfall of Sunday.
The deceased, 45, died at Auyakawa quarters while she was sleeping in the house with her spouse.
The husband, Shehu Na’Allah, 60, survived the incident and was referred to hospital for urgent medical attention.
The body of the woman was released to her family for burial after she was certified dead by a medical doctor.
The downpour, which lasted for many hours, destroyed several mud houses in the area.
The NSCDC added that a number of affected residents have been evacuated.
