Wike accuses Dogara of supporting Atiku.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has slammed Yakubu Dogara, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, for supporting the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
According to Track News, Governor Wike, who spoke on Monday at the official flag off of Agbonchia-Indorama road in Eleme Local Government Area (LGA), said Dogara’s group’s support for Atiku contradicts the former Speaker’s previous stance.
According to Wike, Dogara stated that Nigeria’s next president must be from the South.
“What I don’t like in life are people who lack character.” I can’t take it anymore. I would challenge them to a debate at the appropriate time. During the event on Monday, the governor asked Dogara, “What made you leave the PDP?”
“Dogara was supposed to see me; unbeknownst to me, he made an excuse, and I was watching Dogara on TV being told by President Muhammadu Buhari that he had defected to the APC.” ‘OK, no problem,’ I say.
“The same Dogara stated that in order for there to be peace, the presidency should be zoned to southern Nigeria.” Now I keep hearing about the same Dogara. Is that how you go about things? “Can’t you say something and back it up?” Wike stated.
Wike’s remarks come amid a crisis in the PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The G5, led by the disgruntled Rivers governor, has been demanding the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, in order to allow a southerner to lead the party in order to achieve “regional balance.”
According to the governors, both Ayu and Atiku are from northern Nigeria.
