I’m going to appoint 100,000 Special Advisers.
It will be remembered that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike defended his decision to appoint 50,000 political advisers just months before stepping down.
On Friday, 14th October, during a live chat with journalists at the government house in Port Harcourt, which was monitored by Tracknews correspondent, Wike said the move is part of his administration’s efforts to alleviate poverty among Rivers State residents and create more jobs.
The Rivers State Governor added that he is not finished and that the figure will be raised to 100,000.
He stated that the appointments are based on public feedback, and that more Rivers State residents are eager to join the movement.
He stated that the appointments would not be a drain on the state government’s resources because they were carefully planned to produce value, and that his administration would also employ civil servants.
