Wike Is PDP, He’s Not In APC – Rivers PDP Chairman

The Acting State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rivers State, Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron commissioned 14 classroom blocks at Ikwerre LGA, built by the Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Samuel Nwanosike.

In his speech, he thanked the Chairman for keeping to his promise to touch every ward in the Local Government Area by carrying out projects across the 13 wards of the LGA, a promise that has been realized, as this is the second project he is commissioning in Ikwerre LGA, as Acting Chairman of the PDP.

Hon. Aaron said the crisis in Rivers State is being sorted out and is an internal problem, which is being resolved, as a family. He stated,
“For those who want to achieve from nothing, that escalated this problem before God intervened, I told them when I cam on board that God brought me to resolve this matter and I want to tell all our party members that I am not leaving PDP.

He went on to highlight the various capacities he has served the PDP, stating, “where will I go to? I have no where to go to but PDP. For those of you who carry rumours that Aaron is leaving PDP, my name is PDP, nothing more, nothing less. Rivers State is a PDP State, the Executive Governor of our state, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara is PDP, our FCT Minister, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike is PDP, he’s not in APC. ”

Hon. Aaron stated that while the FCT Minister is serving in an APC Government, he is a member of PDP and has no plans of leaving.
“The Governor started well, he is carrying projects in some LGAs, the link road is going on in 6 LGAs and has flagged off a 20,000 housing project in Ikwerre LGA.

The governor means well for us, he took over from his boss. He worked, that synergy between him and Wike will remain. For those of you who want to destroy the relationship, you have failed. Wike and the present Governor, they will come back to the normal as they were before.

For those of you who are coming from other political parties, to balkanise PDP, showing support that no one asked you to, you have failed.

Because I get worried when I see people from different wards with “support for Siminalayi Fubara”, are we running a fresh election? So what are they supporting? You never followed us for campaigns and you never took part in our elections. Some of them I saw them at the tribunal, against the PDP and the Governor. Now we won in Tribunal and Appeal now they are saying they are supporting the Governor, you are not supporting us, you are balkanizing the party but i will not allow that to happen. God brought me for peace and that peace, i have signed it in Abuja before the President and I want to assure you, that, that peace will reign in Rivers State,” he added.

He advised them to stop crying more than the bereaved, because both parties are working toward synergy as they have shared rice and money to the various wards in the state. Which signifies unity of purpose.

“You want me to leave the house that i followed to build? It’s an obvious no. No PDP person will show solidarity for one person. The Governor is our own, the Minister is our own, so what are you supporting? It means you are coming with an evil intention.
For the Assembly members that decamped to APC, I was not aware of it. And when I heard of it, I consulted the Stakeholders, we have a formidable stakeholders in this state who are PDP members. After which I contacted the National of our party. I will not tell you what our party is doing. The people that left are our products and I am not happy but this is an internal issue that will be resolved”.

He urged the Chairman in the spirit of reconciliation not to victimise anyone. He asked for prayers for the Governor and Minister. He said it is sad that when people leave a position, they’re castigated. He said even the current Governor will be castigated by the people supporting him now because the same set of people supported the former Governor and even Jesus could not satisfy anyone.
He said everyone present should advise their people to stop protesting as protest is distracting the Governor from concentrating on his duties.
He referred the crisis entrepreneurs to reflect on the Governor’s speech yesterday which highlighted his desire to implement the peace pact.

Hon. Aaron who was accompanied by the State Secretary of the Party, Dr. Benibo George as well as the State Woman Leader, Hon. Mrs. Mirian Ogbonna, commended the Chairman for following the footsteps of former Governor Nyesom Wike who commissioned projects up till the last days of his handover, which in itself, shows a commitment to better the lives of the populace.
He thanked the people of Ikwerre LGA for supporting the Chairman, which has enabled him to accomplish the much he has, during his tenure in office.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of Ikwerre LGA, Hon. Engr. Samuel Nwanosike had stated that his commitment to serve the people of Ikwerre Local Government Area, is till the last day of his tenure and he has several ongoing projects across the LGA, he plans to complete and commission before leaving office.
The member representing Ikwerre LGA at the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Nyeche had commended the Chairman of the LGA for carrying out topnotch projects, adding that he will continually support his developmental strides, regardless of his political affiliations, because the government is one of unity. He further stated that the issues which made him leave the PDP, is a family affair that is being addressed, therefore, he cannot speak further on it.
