Wike May Work Against Atiku, PDP – Deji Adeyanju
By Adeleye Kunle
Deji Adeyanju, the convener of the Concerned Nigerian movement, has claimed that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike may work against the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Adeyanju stated this in response to the new relationship between Rivers Governor and All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu’s allies.
Wike had invited Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila to commission projects in Rivers State.
The political activist went on to say that politicians are self-centered and only care about their own political interests, which could lead to Wike ignoring Atiku and the PDP.
“There is a possibility that Wike will work against Atiku and PDP because all politicians care about is their political interest and self-preservation,” Adeyanju told Tracknews Nigeria, “but in essence, nobody can tell Rivers people who they should vote for or not at this level.”
“However, for political expediency and other reasons, you need a governor who can galvanize people to vote in large numbers so that people are not disenfranchised.”
“If the governor can help suppress or increase votes, the numbers can be significant.” These are some of the issues that require a governor and a party, and if they are not working, the people’s will may be suppressed.”
