William Saliba’s Replacement: Arsenal considers a move for a Bundesliga defender
By Adeleye Kunle
This summer, Arsenal is considering a move for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix, Track News reports.
Arsenal has been aggressive in the early stages of the transfer window, looking to bolster their squad after missing out on a place in the Champions League last season.
Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos, Matt Turner, and Gabriel Jesus have already arrived, and Mikel Arteta is reportedly looking for a Bundesliga defender.
Arsenal is interested in Wolfsburg center-back Lacroix as a possible replacement for William Saliba.
Saliba spent last season on loan at Marseille, where he established himself as one of the best young players in France. The young defender may be struggling to break into the Arsenal first team at the moment and may be looking for a move away from the club.
Despite Gabriel and Ben White’s excellent defensive partnership, Arteta is looking to add more squad depth to his Arsenal squad.
With the introduction of five substitutions in the Premier League, depth is becoming increasingly important, especially if you want to compete with elite squads like Liverpool and Manchester City.
