“Winning APC Ticket Doesn’t Translate To Automatic Victory, People Are Now Enlightened” – Adeyemi
The senator representing Kogi West, Smart Adeyemi, has stated that winning the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket doesn’t translate to automatic victory at the polls. While speaking on the Kogi State gubernatorial election that will take place on 11 November 2023, he noted that the people are now enlightened, adding that they will reject a bad candidate even if he is the flagbearer of the ruling party in the state.
Recall that Adeyemi is one of the politicians who have picked up interest forms ahead of the governorship election. Speaking on this, he said that it is important that the people accept whoever emerges as the flagbearer of the party in the state. He made it clear that the people are now politically educated, adding that they won’t support a candidate with bad records.
“Winning the APC ticket doesn’t translate to automatic victory in the governorship election. If a candidate is bad and unacceptable to the people, the people will vote against the candidate. Gone are those days when people just vote anyhow. People are now enlightened and they are politically educated.”
