‘With due respect, I have not heard about Oyetola’s loss,’ – Adamu breaks silence

By Adeleye Kunle
Senator Abdullahi Adamu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has denied knowing about the loss of incumbent Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola in Saturday’s election, TrackNews reports.
Adamu stated that he only learned about the election results from the presenter.
Adamu claims that he has not yet received a formal announcement from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“With all due respect, my dear brother, I am just hearing this from you,” he said. I have not yet received an official announcement from INEC, Nigeria’s independent electoral commission.
“I haven’t heard anything from them yet.” I’ll be able to answer this question once I receive formal notification from INEC.”
“Between you and me, I haven’t formally heard from INEC, and I haven’t read the papers you’re referring to.” I usually read the papers on my table before breakfast, but I haven’t done so today.
When asked if the party would accept defeat if he finally saw the results and voting pattern breakdown, Adamu said he would not state his position until he confirmed the results.
“I don’t like pre-empting my situation,” he explained. You must be patient. Now that you’ve received the result, please wait for mine. You can contact me and I will be happy to talk about it.
“Of course, I will abide by it until I hear from INEC formally or my people in the control room confirm that it is the result.” However, hearing the outcome first from you is unacceptable. You do not represent INEC.”
